The Avengers have rescued Tony, captured and drugged by AIM. Since, for some strange reason, Iron Man isn't around, Steve offers to sit with Tony as he comes up out of sedation. Mostly Tony just wants to tell Steve he loves him; it's nothing Steve can't handle, and mostly Steve just wishes Tony meant it the same way he did. But then Tony wants to talk about several things he shouldn't know, and Steve learns that sometimes the truth really is that simple.
Obadiah Stane, CEO of Stark Industries since Howard’s son died before Steve even woke up, isn’t happy that the Avengers haven’t caught the villain Iron Man yet. The mysterious man in the armor keeps destroying SI weapons, and even though they tried to arrest him, he always slips through the Avengers’ fingers. It doesn’t help that Steve enjoys their bantering a bit too much, and that he’s starting to think that Iron Man has a worthy cause.
In which officially Bucky and Iron Man are dating, unofficially Bucky knows Tony is Iron Man, officially no one else knows Tony is Iron Man, and unofficially Tony and Bucky are trolls.
Or, Steve and Natasha learn never to assume they know what's going on in Tony and Bucky's relationship.
